The UW-Parkside Student Center received a $25 million “extreme makeover.” For some of the juniors and seniors on campus who ate, bowled, shot pool and watched movies in the old Parkside Union, the extreme makeover is almost unbelievable.

“When I first walked in here it was not what I was expecting, it was not “typical college”…this is a lot more like restaurant style ... it’s nice. Looking forward to hanging out here.” Sam Albrecht

The new name — Student Center — describes what the building is all about. Sure, it’s a great place to eat, relax, hang out or grab a latte. But it’s also the place where you’ll find the University Bookstore, Student Involvement Center and University Activities, and meeting rooms for student clubs and organizations. It is the center for student life.
