Who Can Use the Health & Counseling Center?
Health & Counseling Services are available to all registered students who pay student segregated fees. No appointment is necessary to be seen by the nurse. However, it is best to make an advance appointment for allergy injections, personal counseling, and doctor visit.
While this service is free it is most important that the student keep appointments made. The professional staff time is limited and valuable. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please call well in advance so that someone else may take advantage of the time.
When acute medical or psychiatric care is needed, a referral can be made through the SHCC; to the contracted Family Practice Physicians or Mental Health Professionals. There is no charge to the student for the office visit. A fee, however, is charged for laboratory, x-ray or other diagnostic tests/procedures that may be covered by the student's insurance.
