“The learning community helped me connect everything better.”
Nadia Londre
Project Success is the Student Support Services First-Year (FYE) Structured Learning Community Experience used to link SSS students, subject areas, peer tutors, peer mentors, faculty from multiple courses, service learning, and advisors, into a single community of learners for the purposes of developing basic skills and participating in the benefits of a collaborative learning environment.
The Project Success Learning Community is offered during the first year, (beginning with an optional summer program). SSS students enroll as a group in the learning community.
Courses are team-planned and some are team-taught. Instructors are chosen specifically for their desire to be part of the Learning Community. Extended time with an instructor and peer tutors is incorporated in the Project Success Learning Community Math, English, and Reading classes and some core classes to enrich the teaching and learning environment.
