Growth Agenda Grants Program Announcement
Growth Agenda Grants Program RFP
The UW System Administration Office of Academic Affairs is pleased to announce a new opportunity for funding for FY2012-13, the Growth Agenda for Wisconsin Grants Program. This grants program has two parts. Institutional Change Grants (ICG) will seek to fund proposals that will result in substantive programmatic and/or institution-wide change (single or multiple institutions) in support of institutional and systemwide goals for the Growth Agenda for Wisconsin. The grants program will also support national, regional, statewide meetings or conferences through Conference and Professional Development Grants (CPDG) that will focus on topics that are aligned with the Growth Agenda for Wisconsin. Detailed information on this grants program is in the Request for Proposals and the Growth Agenda for Wisconsin Grants website at: http://www.wisconsin.edu/acss/grants/growthagenda.
This grants program seeks to fund projects that are bold in their vision, designed to transform programmatic or institution-wide practices, and have the potential to be sustained beyond the scope of the grant funding. Priorities for funding will focus on projects that advance one or more of the three Strategic Goals of the Growth Agenda and model Inclusive Excellence. These goals include:
-
Increase the number of Wisconsin graduates (i.e., improving access to high-quality academic programs and educational opportunities; increasing retention and graduation rates for all students; enhancing teaching and learning; and supporting strategies and practices that enhance student success, both in the classroom and beyond.
-
Help create more well-paying jobs (i.e., tailoring academic programs to meet local workforce needs; and developing the workforce to meet the economic needs of today and tomorrow.
-
Build stronger communities (i.e., improving access to higher education for Wisconsin’s PK-12 and adult populations; and fostering engagement and partnerships between UW institutions and their local communities and regions.
A total of $2 million will be available for the 2012-2013 academic year. Funding will be used to support the two broad categories of activities: Institutional Change Grants (ICG) and Conference and Professional Development Grants (CPDG). While the majority of the $2 million will go to the ICG program, the final distribution of the funding between ICG and CPFG will be determined based on the strength of the proposals.
Proposal Deadline:
The UWSA proposals deadline is February 20, 2012.
UWSA ARG/WiTag Announcement Request for Proposals (.doc) Extended Deadline Announcement
I am pleased to announce the 2012-2013 competition for two grant programs: the Applied Research Grants & Wisys Technology Advancement Grants. Through the Applied Research Grant (ARG) program, we anticipate awarding funding to UW System faculty and/or academic staff from any UW institutions for projects of no more than one year’s duration that address issues that would have a demonstrable impact on the state’s economy.
The WiSys Technology Advancement Grant (WiTAG) program offers funding over a three-year period to faculty and academic staff in science and technology fields to develop high-value intellectual property and/or marketable products, while laying the foundation for future extramural funding. UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee researchers are not eligible for Applied Research-WiTAG awards. However, UW-Madison or UW-Milwaukee faculty may collaborate on ARG-WiTAG grant proposals submitted by other institutions.
This cycle includes a pre-proposal cycle in which applicants are able to receive feedback to strengthen their full proposals. If you have questions or intend to apply please contact Julie Dresen at dresen@uwp.edu. The extended deadline is February 29th.
