About

Since 1968, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside has continued to build a reputation as an outstanding liberal arts institution with particularly strong fine arts programs. As we now undertake the remodeling and expansion of our Communication Arts Building, our state-of-the-art instructional facilities and stunning, new performance venues will match our award-winning academic programs and provide even greater community access.

Architects Hammel, Green & Abrahamson, Inc. have developed an impressive plan that will add 72,000 square feet to the existing 107,000 square foot Communication Arts building and will substantially remodel portions of Molinaro and Wyllie Halls.

As the newest and largest facility of this type in the area, we look forward to accommodating more students with interest in our fine arts programs, but also more community members to participate in, and enjoy, outstanding music, theatre, and art exhibitions.

  • A new 340 seat music recital hall
  • A 120 seat “black box” studio theatre for smaller theatre productions
  • Galleries for both professional and student art exhibitions
  • Instructional studios for music, theatre arts and 2-D art programs
  • Expanded and upgraded general classrooms

Additional Features of the Project

  • Instructional studios for 3-D art programs in Molinaro Hall
  • Digital arts computer labs in Wyllie Hall
  • State-of-the-art distance education classroom in Wyllie Hall

Opportunities for the Future

Through the incredible generosity of donors like Frances E. Bedford, our students and community will now have a beautiful new space dedicated solely to music performance. It is fully expected that the Frances E. Bedford Concert Hall will become one of the greatest performance venues in the region. We look forward to partnering with other individuals like you to discuss additional naming opportunities.
