“Bus Stop” Week Two begins, bus trip April 28

"Bus Stop," the collaboration between the UW-Parkside Theatre Arts Department and the Milwaukee Chamber Theatre that has received raves reviews from the Brew City media, begins the second week of its three-week run tonight. Curtain raises tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway, in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.

The MCT starts the evening with the program "ViewPoints" starting at 6:30 p.m. UW-Parkside Professor and English Department Chair Dr. Jay McRoy presents an informative pre-show talk about 1950s rural culture and the film version of "Bus Stop." 
ViewPoints is free and takes place in the Skylight Bar & Bistro, which is open for dinner and refreshments beginning at 5:30 p.m.

In addition to today's 7:30 p.m. performance, "Bus Stop" is presented Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 4 and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. For tickets, visit www.milwaukeechambertheatre.com

"Bus Stop" Bus Trip!

If you'd like to see the play but you don't want to drive to Milwaukee, hop on the bus! A bus excursion is being offered to the Saturday, April 28, 8 p.m. performance. For one low price, you get transportation, a ticket to the play, and dinner at the theatre from a customized menu of diner delights!

During the meal, you'll enjoy a conversation between the play's director and UW-Parkside Theatre Arts Professor Lisa Kornetsky and C. Michael Wright, the Milwaukee Chamber Theatre's producing artistic director.

We leave at 5:30 p.m., dinner is at 6:30 p.m., curtain is at 8 p.m., and we board the bus for home at around 10:30 p.m. The menu includes Mac and Three Cheeses, Southern Fried Chicken Breast, Mother's Meat Loaf, Waffles and Gravy or Maple Syrup, Betty's Apple Pie (which is listed in the book "500 Things to Eat before it's Too Late and the Very Best Places to Eat Them), and Cubanita's Coconut Cream Pie.
