The Scene Shop

The scene shop located behind and adjacent to the theatre is a 20' x 70' comprehensive scenic workspace. Built to accommodate load-ins for touring productions it has two full size stage doors to allow large scenic units access to the stage. The shop is equipped with commercial grade electric and pneumatic tools used in scene shops throughout the country and a full compliment of hand tools. Limited welding and metalworking is also available in this space. All tools are provided by the university, and each student is instructed in the use and maintenance of all the tools in the shop. All productions are constructed and painted by students with close supervision provided by the professional shop staff.
