The mission
of Learning Assistance is to provide UW-Parkside students the opportunity
to develop diverse skills and strategies necessary for academic success.
In support of this mission, Learning Assistance has established the
following goals:
-
Conduct
programs including academic courses, tutoring, writing assistance,
and workshops. Academic Skills courses will prepare students for university
level classes and/or for satisfying the university's competency requirements.
-
Assess,
evaluate, and revise (as necessary) the programs of academic support
to stay current with academic trends and research.
-
Investigate,
develop, and implement new programs and technologies as necessary
and appropriate.
-
Serve
as a resource to the campus community in promoting academic excellence.
The mission
of the Tutoring Center is to serve as a learning resource that provides
free accessible academic support. Through mutual respect and by embracing
diversity we develop learning networks in a welcoming environment. We
encourage personal responsibility and provide opportunities for success.
