What is your favorite quote? “People love to suffer because suffering makes them right.”- Burtrand Russel Can you recommend a good book and why? In Cold Blood by Truman Capote was the last book I had a chance to finish. It’s incredibly engaging and Capote’s writing style is fantastic.
Who is your role model and why? My high school theater teacher Mr. Parker, who showed me what it is to get things done and make theater happen. What leadership skills or accomplishment(s) are you most proud of? If I can accomplish the goals I set and keep my promises I take a measure of pride from that. I’m also proud when I can establish a good team around me who listens to each other and takes initiative. What is the best part about being a member/leader of ? I’m part of Amnesty International. What is the most rewarding aspect of your leadership position? Knowing that I’m one of the people making the gears turn behind what I use to think were simple projects is pretty rewarding. What do you want your legacy at UW-Parkside to be? It’d be pretty neat if people would say “Hey, there’s the guy they re-named the school after!” This is a joke, I want to stress that. If you were recruiting students to attend UW-Parkside, what would you tell them? It’s cheap, it’s pretty and if you put in the work you’ll find you can do great things from here. Why do you think it is important to get involved? Aside from the fame? The more involved you are the more invested you become in this school and the more invested you become in this school the more this school will invest in you. How can other students get involved with your organization(s)? Find out when meetings are and just show up. I got involved with everything I’m doing just by showing up and asking a couple of questions. Now I’m two presidents and a DJ. Who’da thunk it? |
