Medical Emergency
- Immediately notify the UW-Parkside Police at 262-595-2911
- Do not attempt to move the victim unless the person is at risk for further injury
- Properly trained individuals should begin CPR for an unresponsive victim who is not breathing normally; UW-Parkside Police vehicles are equipped with automatic external defibrillators to aid heart attack victims
- Properly trained individuals should commence first-aid while waiting for medical assistance, particularly to stop heavy bleeding
- If alcohol poisoning is suspected, keep the person awake
- If a person is suffering a heart attack, automatic emergency defibrillator devices (AEDs) are located in UW-Parkside Police squad cars, at the Student Health and Counseling Center, at the Sports and Activity Center (three units)
