Tornados
- Do not leave the building you are in
- In the main complex, go to the D2 level
- In all other campus buildings, take shelter in a basement or in the smallest, most-interior rooms and hallways on the lowest floor
- Avoid glass-enclosed areas or areas with large roofs (auditoriums & gymnasiums)
- Crouch down and protect your head and neck
- If you are outside a building, find a ditch or low-lying area away from trees
- Wait for authorized emergency personnel to give the “all clear” signal
Thunderstorms
- Stay away from windows
- Draw shades or blinds to reduce injury from flying glass
- Minimize use of electric appliances
Weather-related Class Cancellation Information
The UW-Parkside campus remains open regardless of weather conditions. However, classes and campus activities may be cancelled should university administration determine holding classes or activities would put the safety of students, faculty, staff, and campus guests at risk.
