Women's and Gender Studies Events
Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
This is an annual program held in the Spring semester. Seventh grade girls from various middle school throughout the Racine and Kenosha area are invited to attend an all day event hosted at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Girls are divided into various groups and attend two one-hour workshops led by women from the community who work in the fields of Science and Math.
This award, named for its founder, Women's and Gender Studies director from 1981-85, will be given for the best paper written by a UW-Parkside student during the previous calendar year.
