Today we celebrate the service of 19 men and women who are the 2012 Retirement Class at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. We sincerely appreciate their unswerving dedication to our students, their service to our university, and their friendship over the years.
To our retiring faculty members Laura Gellott, who earned the Stella Gray Teaching Excellence Award twice; Jerry Greenfield, who received both the Faculty Distinguished Service Award and the Stella Gray Teaching Excellence Award; and UW-Parkside Diversity Award recipient Ed Wallen, we wish you the very best.
To our long-serving and extremely successful retiring coaches--wrestling coach Jim Koch and men's soccer coach Rick Kilps, we extend our most sincere appreciation for your leadership both athletically and academically. To retiring Vice Chancellors Bill Streeter and Steve McLaughlin, we acknowledge the debt our students, faculty, staff, and community owe you for the work you did over the years. Much of your individual and collective work was carried out behind the scenes, away from the glory, but we want you to know that it is appreciated.
To Catherine Jameson, Vanaja Menon, Robert Mercer, William Blanchard, Cynthia Jensen, and Peg Lawton, people in positions of great responsibility, people who touched the lives of students every day, people who made this university better by their presence here, we thank you.
To Sandra Puzerewski and Karen Reiher, both of whom served as the glue that held their departments together, we express our appreciation.
