The University of Wisconsin Parkside currently has a Medical Program Assistant-Associate vacancy in the Student Health, Counseling and Disabilities Office.

Job Duties: This position provides administrative and program support to the Student Health, Counseling and Disability Services office. Duties include greeting patients and clients in person or by telephone and assessing the urgency, nature, and severity of the medical/counseling problem; scheduling appointments; responding quickly and appropriately to emergency situations; coordination of clinic communications including receiving and triaging a large volume of calls; entering messages into the automated system; communicating daily with campus constituents by e-mail and social media posting regarding the hours of walk in appointments, cancellations, etc.; assisting in preparing monthly financial reports and the annual budget; training new employees and students per instructed schedule; other duties as assigned. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Required abilities include extensive computer use including an Electronic Medical Records/Health Records System (i.e. Epic, Censure), Excel and Word programs; knowledge of FERPA, HIPPA, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Additional skills include ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in identifying problems and seeking and implementing solutions; knowledge of ICD-9CM and CPT codes; and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced and often stressful environment.

Salary: Pay will be based on the rules that apply to compensation upon transfer, reinstatement or voluntary demotion transactions. Pay will not be less than the minimum of the 02-11 pay range, $15.411/hour. A six month permissive probation period may be required.
