The University of Wisconsin Parkside currently has a Program Assistant Advanced Confidential vacancy in the Finance and Administration and Enrollment Management departments

Job Duties: The Program Assistant Advanced Confidential provides administrative support for the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration (VCF&A) & Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management (AVCEM). The Program Assistant Advanced Confidential interacts daily with faculty, staff, students, parents, System Administration and community members to resolve problems, clarify policy or procedures, and respond to inquiries. Duties require recognizing and communicating potential problems to supervisors and exercising independent judgment in applying complex policies, rules, and regulations into decision-making actions. Oversees operational expenses, material purchases human resource activity, schedules meetings, makes periodic cash deposits, analyzes financial reports, composes correspondence and coordinates reports and special initiatives. Confidentiality is a critical aspect of the position which functions under general direction and exercises independent judgment and thinking in completing the required duties. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Required abilities include extensive computer use with Microsoft Office and web page software, information system tools (People Soft) customer relationships tools (EMS) imaging systems tools (Image Now), and UW System data bases and systems (WSDOM, KRONOS); knowledge of budget processes and accounting principles, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Additional skills include ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative under a variety of complex rules and regulations; excellent communication skills; and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment where changing priorities and interruptions are common.

Salary: Pay will be based on the rules that apply to compensation upon transfer, reinstatement or voluntary demotion transactions. Pay will not be less than the minimum of the 81-05 pay range, $13.695/hour. A six month permissive probation period may be required.
