CNHS Alumni Event Saturday, Aug. 29

Published: August 11, 2015
The University of Wisconsin-Parkside College of Natural and Health Sciences (CNHS) Advisory Board hosts an Alumni Summer Celebration Saturday afternoon, Aug. 29, on the UW-Parkside campus in Somers. Family activities, including the Racine Zoo traveling show, start at 3 p.m., and a reception begins at 4 p.m. on the Student Center Terrace.

CNHS alumni are invited to reconnect with former classmates and professors. Attendees will also have a chance to meet special guests Dr. Doug Devan and Dr. Bill Jeranek, the first two UW-Parkside alumni to complete medical school.

A memorial tree planting in remembrance of Dr. Anna Maria Williams immediately follows the alumni event at 6 p.m. The tree-planting ceremony is free and open to the public.

The CNHS Advisory Board is hosting the event to celebrate the accomplishments of students and alumni. UW-Parkside students interested in health professions continue to attain unparalleled success. Graduates benefit from a professional-school placement rate of near 90 percent, including applicants to medical school. That acceptance rate is more than twice the national average. Alumni continue to make significant contributions on campus and in the community.
