Eight University of Wisconsin-Parkside student-athletes were honored by the Great Lakes Valley Conference with the 2014-2015 GLVC Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Award.

Three of the eight honorees are from the 2014 GLVC regular-season and tournament champion women's soccer team: Kelsey Armour, Karley Mecko, and Ashley Meyer. Joining Armour, Mecko, and Meyer are men's track & field athletes Justin Armstrong and Miguel Garcia, women's basketball players Gaby Bronson and Jennifer Blunt, along with women's cross country and track & field athlete Amanda Zittleman.

All eight were among the 71 UW-Parkside student-athletes named to the Academic All-GLVC Team.

The recipients of the GLVC Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Award exemplify the outstanding student-athletes in the conference. Each honoree has exhausted his or her eligibility in the intercollegiate sport in which they participated and maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average throughout their academic career. In addition, to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must have competed in the GLVC for a minimum of two years and completed 96 credit hours.
