Herbert Lowe Featured Speaker

Published: September 28, 2015
Herbert Lowe, journalism professional in residence and director of the O'Brien Fellowship in Public Service Journalism at the Marquette University Diederich College of Communication, will talk about how your personal blog can demonstrate your storytelling ability and become your "hire me" website.

Mr. Lowe's presentation takes place Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Molinaro 105 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Learn to see the "good stories" happening in your daily life and how to present them. Mr. Lowe will also discuss other forms of online reporting as well as maximizing social media. Developing these skills, he says, could lead to work in many sectors – not just in a newsroom.

Mr. Lowe is a former newspaper reporter, who after using his journalism DNA to help nonprofit organizations extend and enlarge their brands, aims to help communication students widen their thinking about career choices. This event is sponsored by the UW-Parkside Communication Department and the College of Arts and Humanities.
