A native of Racine, I attended UW-P for a short period during the early 1980s. After a brief military stint, I returned to the area and worked for a local corporation. While doing so, I returned to school, receiving my B.A. from Carthage College in 1996, and my Ph.D. from Marquette University in 2009. I began teaching in 2002 and left the corporate world two years later to devote myself to education full-time. I have been fortunate to be a part of the UW-Parkside community since 2006.

Teaching Interests

My primary area of interest and research is social history in early modern Great Britain. I have taught on a number of related subjects, including our Western Civilization survey classes, the history of Britain, Napoleonic Europe, and the World Wars.

Research Interests

Presently, I am working with a wonderful editorial team at Lexington Books, as we prepare my book, "Extraordinary Perseverance: The Life of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton" for print. Hopefully, you'll see it on the shelves by the end of 2014!
