1 - Perforn a D2L
system check. It is designed to ensure your computer system is properly
configured by verifying your browser version, display and settings for
javascripts and cookies.
2- The web browser makes a difference. The recommended browsers
are:
PCs: The
preferred browser is Internet Explorer 5.0-6.0.
Macs: The preferred browser is Netscape 4.7-7.x or Mozilla 1.3-1.x.
Note:
Safari and Internet Explorer are not supported on a Mac.
3- Reportedly AOL's browser is inconsistent and might cause problems.
But, starting IE after connecting through AOL usually works.

I want to print a PowerPoint presentation

it.
PowerPoint behaves differently depending upon the version: 2000 or 2002/3
- PowerPoint Printing with v. 2000: IN the
content window do not click
on the D2L printer icon. Instead,
place your mouse over the ppt slide and
right click choosing Print from the
menu.
- PowerPoint Printing with v. 2002/3: Click on
the PowerPoint content
link. A File Download dialog box
opens. Choose Save.
A Save As dialog box opens.
Rember to take note of
where you saved it
and its filename. Click
Save
Then open the saved file using the PowerPoint program on your computer.
If you do not have PowerPoint you can download a
free viewer.

Word at home.
You can download a free Word
viewer for home use. It will let you view and print Word documents.

If you have already typed in it in the D2L window and do not want to lose
your work, highlight the desired text with your mouse, right click and
choose Copy from the menu.
Then open a word processor, like Microsoft Word, and Paste it into a
blank
document and choose Save from the File pull down menu.
