UW-P Personal Website Help

The oldweb.uwp.edu server is going offline as of June 1, 2010.  If you are not maintaining any websites on oldweb, this change will not affect you.

But, if you are using or maintaining a web page with an address that starts with http://oldweb.uwp.edu/, that page needs to move to a new location before June 1.

If you are maintaining a personal website on oldweb, your site must be moved to the homepages server.

Why does my personal site need to move from oldweb to homepages?
The computer server that hosts those web pages is being decommissioned.

Where is the new location?
The new location will have the following address, with username replaced with your UW-P username: http://homepages.uwp.edu/username/. Note the lack of the ~ in front of the username.

When will it occur?
Your files will need to be moved from oldweb to homepages before June 1, 2010. After your files are moved, you will need to reference the new location to your students and colleagues and you will need to FTP or upload all edited material to the homepages server location: http://homepages.uwp.edu/username/

How can do I connect to the homepages server to work with my files?
Please see instructions for your specific program: Contribute, Dreamweaver, FrontPage, or Fetch/FTP.

How can I fix links that are broken?
Please see instructions for fixing links.
