Parkside Academic Resource Center

The Parkside Academic Resource Center (PARC) offers free academic support in a variety of undergraduate subjects each semester.  Individual Tutoring and Study Groups are available.  Student Tutors & Group Leaders are subject area experts who have successfully completed the course, usually with the same professor. They are able to answer questions, review course material, assist with preparing for exams, guide discussion and provide tips on study strategies in the content area.

Stop by the Parkside Academic Resource Center located in Wyllie D 180 ( across from the Advising and Career Center) or call us at 595-2044.

One-on-One Help

Individual tutoring sessions begin the second or third week of the semester.

Peer Tutors offer one-on-one assistance in a variety of subjects. These students are subject area experts who have successfully completed the course and are able to answer questions, review course material, help prepare for exams, guide discussion and provide tips on study strategies.

Walk-in math tutoring is available whenever the Center is open.  Assistance with other subjects and writing is by appointments.  You can request an appointment by speaking with the PARC staff.

Group Help (Supplemental Instruction)
Supplemental Instruction is available to  help you succeed in challenging courses. It is led by a student who has already successfully completed the class. The SI Leader  will attend the lecture along with you and then designs study sessions based on the material presented.   These groups vary each semester, so check with the Center to see if one is available for your class.
