Intern Connections Program

The Advising and Career Center is excited to announce we are accepting applications for Intern Connections for Fall 2014! Intern Connections combines two incredible opportunities: RangerLink and Great Lakes Career Ready Internships. With Intern Connections, you will integrate academic studies with professional work experience in an internship or experiential opportunity.

Ranger Link is a dynamic internship program funded by the Mary Frost Ashley Charitable Trust and the Kloss Family Foundation. Students enrolled in the Ranger Link program will complete an 80 hour semester-long internship and have the option to apply their internship for college credit. Students who complete the internship and related academic components will be awarded a $1000 scholarship.

Great Lakes Career Ready Internships is an exciting program that is funded by Great Lakes Community Investments.  Students who are accepted into this program will engage in an internship that directly aligns with a their individual professional goals. Students also have the option to apply their internship for college credit.  Students will earn an hourly wage that is made possible by Great Lakes Community Investments.

All students accepted into Intern Connections will attend an Internship Preparation Seminar. You will also create a professional portfolio, an educational tool used for reflection and the practical pursuit of career opportunities and/or graduate studies. The professional portfolio will incorporate your personal, academic, and professional experience into a tangible record of your accomplishments.

Intern Connections applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:
  • Enrollment Status (For example, full-time degree-seeking student)
  • Cumulative GPA (For example, 2.25)
  • Academic Standing (For example, Good Standing)
  • Program College (For example, College of Arts and Humanities)
