SAFETY NOTICES & ALERTS

In compliance with the federal Clery Act (Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act) the following Safety Notices and Alerts are provided.

October 27, 2014
Monday, Oct. 27, at approximately 10 p.m., the UW-Parkside Police Department responded to a report of an attempted robbery near the north end of the Sports & Activity Center. The victim reported the he was walking toward The Rita parking lot (Lot C) from the Sports & Activity Center when he was hit in the back of the head by an assailant who was trying to take his backpack. He was able to fight off the attacker; who ran away. 

The suspect is described as a male about 6 feet tall and 175 lbs. and wearing dark clothing. A search of the surrounding area was conducted, however, the suspect was not located. The Parkside Police Department is committed to the safety and security of students, faculty, staff and campus visitors. The "Safe Walk" program available to anyone Monday to Thursday from 6 to 11:30 p.m. The Parkside Police Department will provide safety escorts at any time. 

For added safety, we encourage everyone to stay on sidewalks and use well-lit paths at night. Emergency call boxes are located on all walking paths and parking lots throughout campus.
