On Thursday, Feb. 14, treat your valentine (and yourself) to four art exhibitions in three galleries, for two hours, and all for one low price...free! Plus, you can meet the artists and have hors d'oeuvres and refreshments all during the Valentine's Day Opening Receptions in The Rita.
The four shows are:
The receptions take place Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. All three galleries are located in the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities and are within easy walking distance of each other. Regular gallery hours are Monday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday noon-8 p.m., Wednesday/Thursday noon-6 p.m., Friday closed, Saturday noon-4 p.m., and Sunday closed.
- "Precognition Tests," the whimsical paintings of Robert McCann; and
- "Subsumed Remnants," a ceramic installation by Lisa Truax. Both are in the Fine Arts Gallery.
- "Why Abstractions," the abstract art of Maureen Fritchen, Dan Nielsen, Suellyn Scoon, and Maggie Venn in the E.H. Mathis Gallery, and
- The ACE Student Art Show, organized by the UW-Parkside student art club
