I am a Management Information Systems/General Business Major and will also be completing the requirements for the Project Management Certificate. All this and graduating a semester early in May 2013!For a long time I have been interested in the application of information technology to problem solving and business management and control. This interest is what informed my choice to enroll for the MIS degree program at UW Parkside and the College of Business, Economics, and Computing.
The professors and curriculum offered in the College of Business, Economics, and Computing of the University of Wisconsin Parkside has been pivotal to my success. As a student here, I have gained a solid foundation from courses that are targeted at industry and not just academics. I have had courses with a community focus in which students apply the knowledge they are gaining in class in real life projects. I have to learned group dynamics and management from a practical point and not just theoretically. I have had the opportunity to intern with Off-Site and SC Johnson, two great companies located in the Kenosha-Racine area.
Choosing a career is one of the biggest decisions a person gets to make in their lifetime and your success is dependent on the school you choose and the professors you meet. For me, UW Parkside met both criteria. I feel very confident of the quality of education I have received and my ability to meet whatever challenges may lie ahead.
