What role did the College of Business, Economics, and Computing play in your success today?
In one word Everything! The College of Business, Economics, and Computing at UW-Parkside has allowed me to spread my wings and get a job within a company that is often filled by Ivy League grads and MBA's. How, you might ask, did I accomplish this? It was because of the course material and curriculum that UW Parkside offered in their business classes. These courses also gave me the knowledge I needed to start my own company www.UniLooped.com (an online student-to-student classifieds and marketplace of which I am the Founder & CEO). I learned a lot from starting my own business and have UW Parkside's business curriculum to thank for that!
Once I had my company up and running, I started to shift my career aspirations towards a true passion of mine Real Estate. With a "what's there to lose?" mentality, I reached out to market leaders in the Milwaukee Commercial Real Estate profession, and with a mixture of personal selling and networking, I was able to connect with the Managing Director of CBRE. Following multiple interviews with company executives, I was shortly thereafter given the fantastic Internship opportunity that I still hold today.I truly believe that college is what you make of it and UW-Parkside's business program made it all worthwhile. The program allowed me the opportunity to work on teams with my peers, be on a first name basis with all of my professors, and work hands-on with local businesses in the Racine/Kenosha community. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my choice to attend UW-Parkside's College of Business, Economics, and Computing Thank you!
