Career Position: Web Applications Developer at NorthShore University HealthSystem
What role did the College of Business, Economics, and Computing play in your success?
The education I received in the College of Business, Economics, and Computing has been critical to my success. The MIS degree is a blend of business and technology coursework. The business side of this provided me with knowledge of the core components of business and developed my business sense. The technological aspects of the degree gave me a firm foundation for success as a web developer and for continued learning and growth in a variety of technological areas. Planning, executing, and managing real world projects with actual businesses, encountered through various MIS classes, provided me the opportunity to hone my skill set, not only in the business and technology arena, but with actual clients. Completing my degree was a truly valuable experience. The helpful, available, and knowledgeable teachers in the College of Business, Economics, and Computing were very important in supporting me as I worked toward that achievement.
