Norman Cloutier
Norman Cloutier, Professor of Economics/Director of the Center for Economic Education, welcomed more than a dozen high school teachers of social studies, economics, and history to the recent professional development workshop titled "Teaching Financial Crises." Although satisfied with the turnout, Cloutier said the Center's workshops often draw 20-30 teachers from around the state. "There is no doubt that school district budget cuts are having an impact on professional development opportunities for teachers," Cloutier said. He noted most of the attendees were from southeast Wisconsin but teachers also came from the La Crosse area with another from Pembine near Iron Mountain. Cloutier thanked SC Johnson for supporting the workshop. "SC Johnson has been a big supporter of the Center's outreach to teachers in Racine. I know that professional opportunities like this are highly valued by teachers," Cloutier said.
