The University of Wisconsin-Parkside (UWP),  is certainly a university of opportunity!  Being the first in my family to attend college- and ultimately obtain a degree; UWP made me feel welcome and at home.  I remember as a freshman all of the walls I built with nervousness, intimidation, and ignorance.  They were quickly torn down by the outstanding admissions team, the caring housing staff, and the dedicated professors.  I was fortunate enough to be a part of the Communication degree program where there was a sincere commitment to helping students succeed.  My professors truly helped me understand not only the power of media, diversity, acceptance and difference but the power of great communication and relationships.

Since graduating from UWP with a B.A. in Communication, I went on to obtain my Masters in Student Personnel Administration from Concordia University.  In the past, I have worked not only in Admissions for UWP, but as a Counselor for the Educational Opportunity Program-Upward Bound at Marquette University.  Currently, I work for the Wisconsin Foundation for Independent Colleges, where I serve as the State Director and Milwaukee Manager of College Readiness 21 (CR21), a pre-college program that provides underserved high school students with the tools and resources necessary to graduate high school and earn a college degree.
