Badger Meter CEO talks on water technology Oct. 13

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside School of Business and Technology invites students and faculty to the program "Water Technology: Wisconsin's Newest Growth Industry." Featuring Richard A. Meeusen, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Badger Meter, these fall semester Executive In Residence presentations are Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 9:30 and 11 a.m. in the Student Center Cinema.

A global manufacturer of meters to control and measure the flow of water and natural gas as well as industrial devices that measure everything from food and petroleum to pharmaceutical and concrete, Badger has been a presence in Wisconsin since 1905. Meeusen has served as the Milwaukee-based company's president and CEO since April 2002, adding the chairman's title in 2004. He joined Badger in 1995 as vice president of finance and chief financial officer.

A recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 Award, Meeusen serves as co-chair of the Milwaukee 7 Water Council. He is a director of Menasha Corp., a consumer packaging company, and is a past director of Waukesha Foundry, Town Bank, and State Financial Services Corp. He also serves on the boards of numerous non-profit community organizations.

"Having an executive of Mr. Meeusen's stature on our campus to speak on such a timely topic provides us a rare opportunity to learn from the head of a firm that is at the forefront of cutting-edge flow measurement technology," said Fred Ebeid, Dean of the School of Business and Technology. "And while this program is aimed primarily at business students, I believe that faculty and students from all majors will find his presentation of interest and I encourage them to attend as well."

"Water Technology: Wisconsin's Newest Growth Industry" with Badger Meter CEORichard Meeusen is free. For more information on the Executive In Residence program, call 262-595-2243.
