Ford: Join me in completing Campus Climate Survey

Dear Colleagues and UWP Students:

Please join me in completing the Campus Climate Survey by clicking this link, http://www.uwp.edu/departments/academic.affairs/campusclimate.cfm or https://online.survey.psu.edu/uwp/ from October 5th - October 26th. The survey is a population based research project lead by Dr. Sue Rankin from Penn State University and your participation and input are vitally important and will remain confidential.

As the most diverse campus in the UW System, we seek to create an environment characterized by equal access and participation for all regardless of differences of race, gender, disability, religion, sexual orientation, nationality or other factors. At UW-Parkside, we seek to foster and support a positive climate that encourages fairness and discourages discrimination and harassment. Such a welcoming and inclusive environment is grounded in respect, nurtured by dialogue and evidenced by a pattern of civil interaction.

The first step in creating such an environment is to assess the current campus climate in order to identify our strengths and our challenges. We must then work together to address areas of concern. The Campus Climate Survey will help us to better understand our campus in order to support our goal of inclusiveness and equal access for all.

Your participation in the survey matters and I hope that you will take 30-35 minutes to answer the multiple choice questions and add your personal experiences and suggestions for improvement. All answers will be confidential and the data are being compiled into a campus based report by our research partner, Dr. Sue Rankin. The best way to complete the survey is to access the internet at

I encourage you to work with your supervisor and your fellow staff members to set aside time to complete the survey. If you prefer a paper copy of the survey, you may pick one up at the Library Circulation Desk and return it there, in its sealed envelop. Thank you for making time to complete The Survey and for sharing your experiences in order to create a campus environment grounded in Inclusive Excellence.
