Diaz named UW-Parkside Director of Development

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside has announced the hiring of David A. Diaz as Director of Development-Annual Fund and Scholarship. He joined the university in November 2011.
Reporting directly to Chancellor Debbie Ford, Diaz has primary responsibility for developing, managing, and implementing the university's annual fundraising plan. This includes direct responsibility for donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship; stewardship of scholarship fund donors, annual gift renewal, recognition programs and gift planning strategies for alumni, emeritus faculty, and current board trustees, employee gift programs, tribute and memorial gifts, matching gifts, and identification of potential planned gift donors.
Diaz also serves as supervisor for the university's coordinator of alumni relations, the database manager, and the development researcher.
Prior to joining UW-Parkside, Diaz was assistant director of annual and special giving for the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He served as the Milwaukee Area Technical College Foundation's donor and alumni relations specialist. Diaz has extensive experience with non-profit organizations having served in development positions for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha counties; and the Lake County (Ill.) Council against Sexual Assault. He started his career as assistant to the Grants and Special Projects Director at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
Diaz is a graduate of UW-Milwaukee. He is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, FUEL Milwaukee, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and the Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee.
