Nonprofit certificate info session Jan. 27
The Center for Community Partnerships at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside offers a free information session on its new Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Program Friday, Jan. 27. Starting at 9 a.m., the program is held in Tallent Hall on the campus at 900 Wood Rd. in Kenosha. Admission is free.
During the 60-minute session, those attending will preview the program's 10 modules and learn the benefits of earning the certificate including career advancement and the enhancement of transferable skills. The course, which runs March to November 2012, also helps attendees develop the knowledge, tools, and networks needed to serve the community.
The first session, titled "Fundamentals of Leading a Nonprofit Organization," is held Friday, March 2. Subsequent modules are "Planning for Nonprofit Organizations," "Nonprofit Board Development and Management," "Fund Development," "Grant Seeking and Development," "Collaboration," "Nonprofit Financial Management," "Managing Nonprofit Employees and Volunteers," "Marketing and Communication for Nonprofits," and "Evaluation and Outcome Measurement." Each module includes assigned online reading required before a five hour face-to-face session. Networking time and a light lunch are provided.
