The public grand opening of the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities is Saturday, Jan. 28, starting at 7 p.m. But the ceremonies marking the building's debut begin today with a ribbon cutting at the Brookwood Entrance.

During a brief ceremony today (Friday, Jan. 27) at 3 p.m., representatives of the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce, led by its executive director Lou Molitor, and Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce, led by Marketing Director Carol Barkow, will cut a ribbon "opening" the building for business. Following the 15-minute ceremony, coffee and cookie will be available inside The Rita.    

Saturday, registration for the public grand opening begins at 6:30 p.m. with the evening's festivities starting at 7 p.m. Enjoy student and faculty art demonstrations in the new fine art studios and galleries, music performances in the Frances Bedford Concert Hall, theatrical presentations in the new Studio Theatre along with behind-the-scenes tours, discussions, and much more. New events begin every 30 minutes and continue through 8:30 p.m.
