A message from Chan. Ford: “Bravo & Thank You”
Editor's note: UW-Parkside Chancellor Debbie Ford sent the following note to campus regarding Saturday's successful dedication and grand opening of the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities.
Bravo and Thank You: The Grand Opening of the Rita exceeds all expectations!
Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly on the Grand Opening events for the Rita. Saturday night was an evening to remember! I was enthused by the students and faculty who demonstrated the many aspects of learning at UW-Parkside, appreciative of the support from the community, alumni, and friends of the University, motivated by the presenters and video clips during the dedication ceremony, and inspired by the passion for teamwork embodied by our faculty, staff, and students. I am proud of what we do each and every day at UW-Parkside and I am proud of you!
As I noted in my remarks, the grand opening of the Rita confirms that The University of Wisconsin-Parkside will continue to be a place where ideas are born, challenged, and changed and a learning community that enriches minds, changes lives, and brightens future. The Rita and our campus community is a place where the human spirit is rekindled, nurtured, and burst into life.
Congratulations to all involved and thank you for showcasing the University of Wisconsin-Parkside mission and four hallmarks of Academic Excellence, Student Success, Diversity and Inclusiveness, and Community Engagement as we begin the Year of Arts and Humanities. The addition of the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities leads the way for UW-Parkside in the 21st Century!
