Calling all chefs: Fat Tuesday chili, soup needed

It's that time again!    

The Parkside Employee Alumni Group's 10th annual Chili/Soup Cook Off is Tuesday, Feb. 21--Fat Tuesday. And the group is asking for amateur chefs to show off their talents and submit a pot of soup or chili for judging and for public consumption. To allow for late sign-ups, the deadline to register has been extended to Thursday, Feb. 16.

You could win the coveted Golden Chili Ladle or the just-as-coveted Soup Bowl travelling trophy (emblematic of Global Chili and Soup Supremacy!) along with a gift certificate to an area restaurant. Plus, you get to judge next year's competition! How cool it that!?    

The Parkside Employee Alumni Group donates proceeds from this event to the Alumni Scholarship Fund. 

During the 2011 event, we started dishing out soup and chili at around 11:30 a.m. and every recipe was gone by noon. So we know the event is very popular with faculty, staff, and students.

The employee alumni group would like to get a few more contestants this year, so register now online. And you could possess (dare I say it?) Global Chili and Soup Supremacy!
