Track & field championships here through Saturday

Athletes will be running faster, jumping higher, and leaping farther today and Saturday at UW-Parkside's Frank Petretti Fieldhouse. The occasion is the 2012 Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.

This is the 13th annual conference championship and it is the third consecutive year the event is being held in the Petretti Fieldhouse of the Sports and Activity Center.

In 2011, the University of Indianapolis men captured their second straight GLVC Indoor Track & Field title. On the women's side, Lewis University won its third GLVC Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship in 2011.

 Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and high school students, and $1 for children 14 years of age and under.
