Dr. James Kinchen welcomes Master Singers Monday.

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Master Singers, a vocal group comprised of members from the community, holds an audition for the spring concert season Monday, March 5. Led by Dr. James B. Kinchen Jr., the audition is held in the Choral Rehearsal Room of the new Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities. Those who wish to audition are asked to call Dr. Kinchen at 262-595-2111 for an appointment.

Following two triumphant sold-out performances of Handel's "Messiah" in December 2011 and an upcoming world premiere performance of "The Ascension" on Friday, March 2, Master Singers will voice Franz Schubert's "Mass in G" this spring. Composed in less than a week during March of 1815, this is the best known of the three shorter mass compositions Schubert penned between his more elaborate first and fifth masses.

Master Singers will perform the piece during a May 2012 concert in the acoustically perfect Frances Bedford Concert Hall of The Rita.

For more information, call Dr. Kinchen at (262) 595-2111.
