The deadline to register for the 2012 University of Wisconsin System Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity has been extended to Friday, March 9. The symposium takes place on the UW-Parkside campus Friday, April 27.

"We had received requests from several UW campuses to extend the deadline and give more time for students to prepare and submit their abstracts. This will also help our students and faculty," UW-Parkside Associate Professor and Chair of Biological Sciences David Higgs said in a recent email to campus. "Please work with any students who plan on presenting at this state-wide symposium [and] make sure they complete their registration and abstract submission by the March 9 date."

Registration and abstract submission forms are available online.

Students and faculty must to go thesymposium web pageand select the appropriate registration type:
Student First Author Registration Type:

For students giving a single-authored presentation as well as for students listed first on a multi-authored presentation. The First Author is the only person who will submit the presentation abstract. They also need to include:

Title

Names of student coauthors (if any)

Information about the faculty sponsor 

Please note: faculty sponsor name will be included in the program next to each presentation, so there is no need to include faculty as a "coauthor."
Student Coauthor Registration Type:

For additional student authors on multi-authored presentations; they will be asked to provide a presentation title; and
Faculty Registration Type:
For attending faculty sponsors and faculty who will attend but are not sponsoring a student(s) project.

Again, the deadline for registration and submission of abstracts has been extended to this Friday, March 9.
