Arts Alive! presents magic of Jason Bishop Mar. 29
The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Arts Alive! series soars to new heights Thursday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. with the eye popping, jaw dropping magic of Jason Bishop. America's hottest magician brings his grand illusions, high-tech sleight-of-hand, and "close-up" magic to the Main Stage Theatre of the Rita Tallent Picken Center for Arts and Humanities for one night only.
One moment, Bishop may have a person passing through his body; the next he'll be coaxing his pet goldfish to swim out of his smart phone and into his hand. And while other magicians levitate a single person, Bishop gets into the act by levitating himself at the same time!
"Everything about this show is fun, from the card tricks to the 'big' illusions to the way Jason interacts with the audience," said Arts Alive! Director Stephanie Sirovatka-Marshall. "He's obviously having just a great time fooling us and we're having a great time being entertained. People are going to love this show."
Working with his beautiful and talented assistant Kim Hess, Bishop cuts through the usual hype, delighting audiences with one remarkable illusion after another. In addition to the breathtaking Double Levitation, his cutting edge Op-Art and Plasma illusions are stunning state-of-the-art magic. And there's always a camera close-by projecting his sleight-of-hand on a giant screen so the audience sees every detail. For a preview, visit http://thejasonbishopshow.com/videos/ on the internet.
"The show was fantastic!" raved Jameel Jones of the historic Virginia Theatre in Champaign, Ill. "People were talking about this show for days and days after the performance!" said Carolyn Brode of Lake Forest's Gorton Center for the Performing Arts.
Tickets for the Jason Bishop Show are $25.50 (students $20) and can be purchased online at www.uwp.edu keyword tickets or by calling 262-595-2307.
