Nominate a Champion who Leads with I.D.E.A.
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Inclusive Excellence Committee are now accepting nominations for the Rangers in Action: Inclusiveness, Diversity, Equity, and Accountability (IDEA) Leadership Champion Award! Twenty-five members of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside community will be honored with a new diversity award. Students, staff, and faculty are eligible to be awarded the Rangers in Action: I.D.E.A. Leadership Champion award. Winners have their pictures featured on the Office of Diversity and Inclusion webpage and on posters around campus. There is also a reception planned in their honor.
Inclusive Excellence is designed to connect Inclusiveness, Diversity, Equity, and Accountability (IDEA)in every aspect of campus life and we'd like to show how members of our community are leading with I.D.E.A. An ideal Leadership Champion is an individual who fosters and builds a sense of community, as well as contributes to diversity and inclusion at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
This award highlights individuals who strive to make our already diverse campus into a comfortable, supportive environment for all students.
"In listening to members of our community, we wanted to recognize and fully appreciate individuals who help us fulfill our mission and hallmarks by providing leadership, encouragement, counseling, and/or advisement in order to help us build community, improve access and success, and diversity and inclusion on campus," said Sarah Park, Manager of Diversity Programs.
There are so many people who contribute to diversity and inclusion on our campus on a daily basis; we want to highlight and celebrate those who are doing good work and making a difference in the lives of our students.
Do you know someone who enacts the spirit of Inclusive Excellence by leading with I.D.E.A.? If so, please nominate someone today! Nominations are due Friday, April 13, at 4 p.m. via online submission at www.uwp.edu; keywords: inclusive excellence. Self-nominations and multiple nominations are welcome. The award winners are notified April 20.
