Celebrate the world during Woldfest 2012!

It's appropriate that a multifaceted celebration should have a finish in which the last day is as diverse as the first four. Worldfest 2012 closes its run Friday with coffee for lunch, lectures on its afternoon menu, and an international dinner. Here's what's coming up:  

"Coffee Around the World," 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Student Center Walnut Room

Need a Friday pick-me-up? Enjoy various blends from around the world and mingle with other coffee fans in the Walnut Room.

Lecture: "Nonverbal Communication Around the World" noon, Student Center Oak Room

 Communication comes in all sorts of wordless messages between people?messages transmitted through gestures and touch, by body language or posture, by facial expression and eye contact. Join UW-Parkside Communication Professor Fay Akindes as she discusses the unique ways nonverbal communication is used from country to country.

Celebration Revolution: Music & Arts of the Arab Uprising, 2:30 p.m., Student Center Walnut Room

Professor Nathan Godley examines Arab Spring, the revolutionary movement that has toppled governments across the Middle East, through the music and art that helped inspire the revolts and the art and music inspired by the uprisings. This is a must-see program for anyone who wants to understand the political power of the arts.

World Cuisine Dinner, 6 p.m., University Ballroom/Student Center

Worldfest closes with dinner and entertainment. Enjoy a Friday evening of music, dance, fashion, and more. A limited number of tickets remain and can be ordered at www.uwp.edu  keyword tickets, by calling 262-595-2307, or at the Campus Concierge desk in the Student Center.
