UW-Parkside’s “Lost Journal”

One of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside's lesser-known student organizations, Straylight Literary Arts Magazine, is working to become more active on campus. The organization sponsors open mic nights and the Parkside Writer's Conference coming up May 2-4. And you're likely to see students involved with Straylight sporting new t-shirts around campus starting the week of April 2.

The journal publishes one issue per semester, containing short stories, poetry, book reviews, and visual art. The online component of the journal, The Villa, can be found at straylightmag.com. There is also "The Pub" and "The Next Level" which are podcasts staff members broadcast weekly online and on WIPZ.

There are other ways students and faculty and staff can enjoy Straylight. There are many opportunities for English and art majors to intern for credit and anyone can submit work to the journal for publication.

Copies of the magazine are available at $8 for students and $10 for the public. Stop by the English office, go online, or contact a staff member to get your copy. Past issues are also available.

Stay connected with Straylight on Twitter and Facebook for announcements and giveaways!
