Help students, feel better: fitness classes, lunch
Every UW-Parkside faculty and staff member wants to help students. And every faculty and staff member wants to be well and feel healthy. Now you can do both during a series of fitness classes and lunch sessions that continue through April.
- Thursday, April 12, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., try the "Complete Body Workout." If you don't have time to spend hours at the gym or don't have access to equipment, spend 60 minutes for a total body workout focusing on legs, arms, and core and using a minimal amount of gear. Deanna O'Loughlin is your instructor in the SAC Dance Studio.
- Friday, April 13, 5 to 6 p.m., go "Total Body Strong." This high intensity circuit training focuses on strengthening the most undertrained muscles in the body. We'll elevate your heart rate and work on strengthening targeted muscle groups. Bryan Gatzke works you out in the SAC Dance Studio.
- Monday, April 16, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., instructor Ryan Montross leads "Spin your way into Shape." Stop in to the Petretti Fieldhouse of the SAC and experience an upbeat, fun cardiovascular class that's good for anyone at any fitness level.
- Wednesday, April 18, noon to 1 p.m., "Core Builder" is an explosive, fun, circuit- style exercise class that strengthens the foundation of our bodily movements. Speed, power, and endurance exercises are arranged in stations to deliver a great calorie burning workout. Sam Jakob leads the crew in the SAC Dance Studio.
The Lunch and Learn series continues Monday, April 9, at noon when Sam addresses "Improving your quality of life with exercise" in room D105 of Molinaro Hall. Tuesday, April 17, at noon Deanna discusses "Swaportunity: Small changes to improve daily caloric intake and output" in CART 109. The last Lunch and Learn is Monday, April 23, at noon, when Ryan asks the question "Exhausted?
