Graduate School Fair: Where to from here?

By Kelsey Hoff

UW-Parkside seniors nervously shuffled their way around tables covered with pamphlets, business, cards, and free pens Thursday, April 5, at the Graduate School Fair in Main Place. Most schools attending came from the immediate region--Alverno College and Marian College. UW System schools attending included Milwaukee, Platteville, and of course, the UW-Parkside School of Business and Technology was there.

Gagan Bhattal, a senior majoring in biology, said it was difficult finding dental programs at the fair, but also kept an eye on for a fallback plan: pharmacy programs. "I've been through the graduate school process--but I'm looking for back up ideas," said Bhattal.

The Graduate School Fair was most helpful to students looking to stay close to home in their graduate school career. The most popular offerings appeared to be business, health care, and education. Representatives were friendly and more than willing to recommend the best way to continue the search for the right graduate program, whether their school offered it or not.
