UW-P Research & Creative Activity Showcase Friday

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Committee on Research and Creative Activity (CRCA) hosts its annual Research Showcase Friday afternoon, April 13, in the Faculty/Staff Lounge, room 247 of the Library. This year, scholars from Geosciences, Modern Languages, Economics, Urban Planning, Criminal Justice, and Biological Sciences will talk about the research being conducted at UW-Parkside. The keynote speaker is Dr. Zhaohui Li, this year's recipient of the CRCA's Excellence in Research and Creative Activity Award.

CRCA member Matt Makarios of the Criminal Justice Department said the five scheduled presentations will last 15 to 20 minutes with 5 to 10 minutes for discussion and questions. The showcase runs from 1 to 4 p.m. with breaks between each presentation to allow people to come and go as their schedules permit. A detailed schedule of each presentation is on the web site.

The showcase is being held in conjunction with the April First Friday. CRCA is hosting the event. The committee wants the campus community to be aware of the great research at the showcase and then spend time informally talking about it over hors d'oeuvres and beverages.
