Tharakunnel joins OIE Monday
Dr. Kurian Tharakunnel joins the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Office of Institutional Effectiveness as associate policy and planning analyst starting Monday, April 23. Dr. Tharakunnel brings more than 20 years of education and research experience to his new position.
Dr. Tharakunnel most recently served as a research analyst at the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Research, andPlanning at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. As a key member of the institutional research team, he initiated and conducted analyses and studies in areas of enrollment, student engagement, retention, and success. He was also responsible for the entire life cycle of survey research--instrument design, administration, and analysis and dissemination of survey results.
Previously, he served as a visiting professor at Millikin University's School of Business and Rowan University's Rohrer College of Business. Previous research experience came in the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Department of Information and Decision Sciences and he was a visiting research scholar in the Illinois Genetic Algorithm Lab at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He began his career as a senior lecturer at the National Institute of Technology, Calicut, India in 1991.
Dr. Tharakunnel holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Management Information Systems from the UIC College of Business Administration. His Master of Technology in Industrial Engineering and his Bachelor of Technology degree in mechanical engineering are from the National Institute of Technology in Calicut.
His office is located in Wyllie Hall.
