The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Arts Alive! series closes its 2011-2012 season with a bang when Barrage blasts into town Friday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. This high-octane fiddle band brings its "Soundtrack of the World" tour to the Main Stage Theatre of the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities at 900 Wood Rd. in Kenosha.
Called "Too 'wow' for words!" by theDenver Post, Barrage combines music and movement?these violinists can dance!?creating unique rhythms and moods that are at times explosive and at times sensual.
"Barrage brings a tremendous amount of energy to the stage," said Arts Alive! Director Stephanie Sirovatka-Marshall. "There's constant movement and terrific music. This is really a treat for the eyes and ears."
Starting out in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Barrage has now entertained millions of people worldwide. Fans in Europe, Asia, and North America have enjoyed Barrage at international festivals, concert performances, and TV shows. Regardless of the venue, Barrage delivers a diverse fusion of cultures, musical styles, and incredible performance vitality. Their musical virtuosity will take your breath away!

This performance is part of UW-Parkside's Year of the Arts and Humanities. This yearlong celebration coincides with the opening of the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities.
