TnT Auction a “Dynamite Fundraiser”
By Kelsey Hoff
Students and staff paced circles around Main Place on Tuesday, May 1, and will do so again today, eyeing tables of unique products and services at the fourth annual Parkside Employee Alumni Group (PEAG) Time & Talent (TnT) silent auction. There was also an online component for those who could not bid in person. This event raises thousands of dollars for scholarships, thanks to skilled volunteers and donors.
Many of the items up for auction were unique to the Southeastern Wisconsin area or handmade. Samples of four chip fudge were available to tempt potential bidders, and some items were customizable, such as the free special occasion cake. Free classes at Kenosha Public Museums and breakfast with Chancellor Debbie Ford at Kenosha diner The Coffee Pot are just an example of the special auction items that would be hard to find elsewhere. Some of the first items to receive bids were tickets to Milwaukee Bucks and Brewers games.
Though PEAG is a group for faculty and staff, they do a lot for the students. Their fund raisers, like the TnT auction and the chili cook-off, are a great way for the UW-Parkside community to share the wealth and generate scholarships for future students. They are doing their part to keep UW-Parkside a great and affordable place to learn and work.
PEAG's Heather Miles thanked auction participants for "a GREAT first day" and asked for everyone's continued participation today. To bid online, visit http://www.uwp.edu keyword TnT auction (you will need to enter your UW-Parkside login and password). Each item is accepting bids and all items are back in Main Place today at 10 a.m. until closing at 1 minute intervals starting at 2 p.m.
